Danny Robbins, president of Southern Bancorp of Manila, has been on the job at the bank, serving the community, for three decades.
Robbins hit the 30 year mark May 31. He said he enjoys coming to work as much today as he did in the early years. He feels fortunate to be able to live and work in his own hometown.
Robbins remembers well interviewing for the position at Merchants & Planters Bank in Manila.
Robbins graduated from Manila High School and Arkansas State University. He went to work with retail stores of Goodyear Tire and Rubber where he worked for 14 years.
“We were transferred nine times in 14 years,” Robbins said. “We had two young children and going to work at the bank gave my family the opportunity to settle in my hometown and allow me to work at a job I love.”
