Southern Bancorp was nationally recognized today at the American Bankers Association National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
Southern received the national bank award for its efforts in revitalizing rural communities.
Phillip N. Baldwin, President and Chief Executive Officer of Southern Bancorp, accepted the award on behalf of Southern during today’s ABA conference in Phoenix.
The award was given based on the innovation, creativity and effectiveness of Southern’s approach to making a difference in rural communities.
“Southern Bancorp and all our employees are honored to receive this award, which represents our commitment and passion towards improving rural communities across America,” Baldwin said.
The ABA Community Bank Awards program was established in 2005 to recognize community banks’ outstanding charitable achievements.
Southern Bancorp, a $600 million rural development bank holding company that operates three development banks and three non-profit organizations in Arkansas and Mississippi, works to transform rural economies by stimulating investments in people, jobs, businesses, and property.
